Conference: what’s next for Global Public Health research?
On Tuesday the 24thof September 2019, Brunel University held an international conference for the official launch of the Brunel Global Health Academy. The Academy is a specialist group of academics and health experts based in the UK and internationally with a hub within the division of health sciences at Brunel University. The goal is to foster collaborative networks to promote capacity building and enable the production of evidence that supports public and health promotion globally, particularly low and middle income.
Dr Elizabeth Dubois, Dr Harumi Quezada-Yamamoto, Ms Chido Kambarami, and Mohammed Al-Saffar from the WHO Collaborating Centre at Imperial College London attended the conference at Brunel for the official launch of the academy.
The conference allowed attendees to listen to stimulating and thought-provoking presentations from guest speakers and Brunel colleagues. These were followed by five themed group discussions to identify challenges and develop measures to strengthen Global Public Health Research.
