Support to Iraqi Medical Students affected by IS terrorists

 Subject: Dealing with students from cities where there are ongoing military operations

Dear Sir / Madam

 His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research has agreed, on the 10/08/2014, on the procedures to be taken to support and back up the students from cites where there are ongoing military operations against the terrorists. These procedures are outlined below:

 1-    For students who are originally from Mousil, AL Anbar, and Salah AL Din and are studying in these cites, the academic year 2013/2014 will be considered as a No Fail Year. Their current circumstances will be reconsidered when the security situation is stable.

2-    For students who are studying in Mousil, AL Anbar, and Salah AL Din but they are originally from other cities, their situation will be treated as the following:

           a-    First year students have two options:

                          1-    To reapply for another universities and or subjects according to their high school grades.

                          2-    To submit a transfer request of the same subject to a university in their city of origin or, if     no place available, in a nearby city, and to start their first year in the academic year 2014 / 2015.

           b-    Second year students and above:

 1-    Students who are studying in AL Anbar city:

         1-    The academic year 2013 / 2014 is to be considered as a No Fail Year. Students will start the same subject and year in the academic year 2014 / 2015 in a university in their city of origin or, if no place available, in a nearby city, as visitor students.

        2-    For the sixth year medical students, the academic year 2013 / 2014 is to be considered as a No Fail Year. Also, the first semester of the sixth year started 01/07/2014 to 01/07/2015 will be rescheduled to start on 01/10/2014 to 01/10/2105.
