World Mental Health Day 2016
The Imperial College School of Public Health & the WHO Collaborating Centre for Public Health Education and Training celebrated the international World Mental Health Day last Monday.
The focus this year emphasised mental health first aid being just as important as physical first aid, so as the department's MHFA (Mental Health First Aider) Federica Amati increased awareness throughout the week and held a cake sale for the cause.
Mental health awareness day aims to highlight the burden of disease which mental ill health poses on the global population.
We raised £126.60 for Mind through the cake sale, and have to thank Alex Swaka and Christina Banks for their excellent effort in baking 3 cakes! All cakes, including Federica's masterpiece were sold out by the end of lunch!
